BBC's Watchdog: "Banks Still Denying Claims From Consumers"

Anne Robinson from BBC's Watchdog says, "Banks are denying customers compensation - and are turning down wholly legitimate claims by the thousands".

Fiona Phillips, also from Watchdog, commented "When judging PPI claims, they are not always right - in reality some banks appear strangely reluctant to part with their money despite all their promises to compensate". She continued, "Getting your money back can be remarkably difficult. The banks are failing spectacularly to put things right".

The Chief Ombudsman added that "Some banks even say that the customer never had PPI in the first place, but when we ask a few more questions we find that actually about a quarter of the customers did have PPI"

This Is Why You Should Use A Claim Company

The Financial Times Adviser has commented on why 100's of thousands of people use claim companies instead of going direct to the lender: "It all comes down to the fact that when customers had complaints they were often fobbed off or met with tactics designed to grind them into submission. Or they simply found the miss-selling claims procedure too complex to handle on their own."

PPI Were you wrongly sold PPI?

When you took out your last loan, or went through the process of purchasing a new financial product or using your overdraft, were you sold Payment Protection Insurance? Perhaps so; and maybe you didn't need it or want it. Hundreds of companies have mis-sold PPI to their customers and consumers, breaching trust levels and increasing debt when their consumers didn't ask for Payment Protection Insurance at all.

You could be one of the thousands of people mis-sold PPI in recent years. The Financial Services Authority (FSA), the Office of Fair Trading and the Competition Commission have all found that PPI has been mis-sold to many people, and that in many cases customers don't even know that they've been sold an additional product. You could have been sold PPI without effective warning, and it may have been added to your product without you knowing. Payment Protection Insurance may be mentioned on any items of paperwork related to your financial dealings, or you may notice unusual past payments relating to PPI.

If you've taken out a loan, a mortgage or a hire purchase agreement in the past ten years, you could be entitled to claim up to £15,000 for mis-sold PPI. If you've taken out a credit or store card, you could be entitled to the same, as well as an additional return of any over-limit and late payment fees. In any of these cases, if your paperwork mentions Payment Protection Insurance, and if you didn't request it, you stand a chance of a successful claim.

Payment Protection Insurance might have been forced onto you when you took out your financial product. If you were made to feel like it was a necessary part of your purchase, you have a right to claim. If you didn't ask for PPI, but found it added anyway, you could be entitled to compensation. If you were offered PPI, but not informed that you could get it elsewhere, you could have a case on your hands.

Mis-sold Payment Protection Insurance could have been having a negative impact on your finances for years. Fortunately, claiming what you deserve won't be another negative experience. Payment Protection Insurance claims don't affect any current loans, and they won't affect your ability to take out other financial products in the future. Claims are dealt with honestly, fairly and sensitively, and you'll not be asked to pay up-front costs to initiate the claims process.

PPI claims have to be made within a specific time frame, so it's best to act fast if you think you have a case. You'll be able to get the help and advice you need on a no win, no fee basis, and there are no outright costs involved in checking if you'll have a substantial claim to make. When you were mis-sold Payment Protection Insurance, you were given a financial product you didn't ask for. You now have the chance to take back the money that's rightfully yours.

Claiming back on mis-sold Payment Protection Insurance isn't a guarantee, but it's worth fighting for. Experienced professionals claim back millions of pounds each year, and your money could be their next successful claim. Professionals deal with all the legal paperwork, and can action your claim in just one day. With many claims settled in one week, and with an average refund of £2,000, it's easy to see why a claim against mis-sold PPI could be your best course of action. Payment Protection Insurance claims are confidential and your data will be protected throughout your claim for your wellbeing and security.

Established and trustworthy claims handlers are highly qualified and experienced, able to discuss your individual circumstances to determine the best course of action. You've been pressured in the past, but the same won't happen again. You can get the advice you deserve without committing to a claim, and you'll receive professional recommendations on the best future moves at no cost to yourself.

When well-known banks and financial businesses mis-sell Payment Protection Insurance, they can make over £1,000 in additional profits on your policies. They might not have explained those additional costs to you, and they may have avoided asking about any existing Payment Protection Insurance, formal or informal, that you might have had. In cutting corners, they've opened themselves to significant numbers of claims from the people who deserve better treatment.

If you think you were mis-sold PPI, or if you believe that you were sold Payment Protection Insurance without being given all the information, you stand a chance of gaining compensation. The amount you receive will depend on your specific circumstances, but you could stand to gain a refund on all premiums.

If you have your paperwork from financial loans in the last decade, it's worth looking into them now. Many banks and providers will not have informed you about Payment Protection Insurance, and you could find that it's a product you've got listed. Any claims should be made with paperwork, though if you've lost your paperwork and you took out your loan in the last six years you may still stand a chance of a successful claim.

You can fill in a form online to be contacted by a professional claims adviser and to set the ball rolling. Your claim request will be treated in a confidential and sensitive manner, and there will be no costs to you until your claim is won. You can find more information about Payment Protection Insurance, or how to claim back on mis-sold PPI.
